Diablo 3 is the third installment from Blizzard Entertainment and one of the highest grossing PC game ever made in terms of first-day sales. It was reported that 24 hours after its release last May 15, 2012, 3.5 million copies were sold. For the first week, the figure almost doubled. The game was opened for North American, Latin American and European game players. Users were given two boxes to choose from, Standard and Collector’s Edition.
The success of the sales was anticipated. The game was announced months before its release and people have become very excited about it. 2 weeks have passed and mixed reviews were gathered. What is Diablo 3?
For those of you who are not fans of the Diablo franchise, Diablo 3 is a role-playing computer game where in you get to battle demons, monsters and the likes using a hero of your choice with a specific set of skills. You can be one of the 5 characters in the story game; The Witch Doctor, The Barbarian, The Wizard, The Monk, and The Demon Hunter. Another thing about Diablo 3 is the loot collection feature. You can pick up any type of loot on the way in which can aid you in developing your character as you go along with the game. You can craft materials too in which you can use in the game.
The Story Line
It is a flash forward of 2 decades in Sanctuary after the fall of Diablo, Baal and Mephisto (in Diablo II). A new evil has begun in Tristram because Worldstone is now in shambles – Burning Hells can now re-enact vengeance. High Heavens have yet to decide who is worthy of their assistance. But Deckard and Leah Cain are now looking for clues on some suspicious relics when a star fell from the sky right where Diablo first stepped into the human world.

The Witch Doctor –If you are familiar with Diablo II, The Witch Doctor is a new character with the same strengths as the necromancer. Their power spell is called Mana. It practices voodoo and shamanism which means the witch doctor poisons his enemies, calls on dead monsters, is truly fond of cursing and feeds on dead souls.
The Barbarian – The Barbarian relies more on his physical power and is very equipped with head to head combat. (I envision this character as The Hulk of the Avengers since they have similarities.) He can crush an enemy in one jumping blow. He is also great with his weapons. His skill is called Fury.
The Wizard – In Diablo, it was the sorcerer. In Diablo II, it was the Sorceress. In Diablo III, it is the Wizard. They shoot fire, ice and lightning. They can also teleport and slow time. Their power source, arcane power, is quick to regenerate.
The Monk – The monk is Melee attacker which means it is fond of joining a group of people who fight each other. The character is a martial arts type of fighter who can easily disable his opponents and can move very fast when attacking. Its power is called Spirit which defends the character while regenerating.
The Demon Hunter – The character is a combination of Diablo II’s amazon and assassin. They use crossbows to supplement their Chain Arrow power. They are also known to throw bombs at their enemies. They have the discipline and hatred power.

It has been a while since they last saw Diablo and this was like a reinvention after 12 years. The experience of playing the game was captivating for some who played the game nonstop for hours! They especially love Sanctuary now with various realms to discover.
The 5 character classes are also something worth trying. Enemies from Burning Hells will definitely have a challenging feat right now since there are new heroes like the Witch Doctor and improvements done with old characters like Barbarian and Wizard. You can even whip up the environment and plant traps for your enemies.
You can play the game on your own or with your friends online. If you choose single player mode, you are allowed to bring 3 different classes players with you as part of your team. When playing online, gameplay is interactive and definitely so much fun!
As already said, you can make unique items that you can use in game. The loot you have picked up can be used to trade or for selling. In game gold is your means to purchase other important items. Plus each character class has a health-enhancing way distinct from the other. The levels get harder each time which is the whole point of playing the game and with all these positive features, players just love it.
So, ok it is not perfect…
The game is only operating for few weeks at the point of this post! Some reviews are just too soon when they say that Diablo III is not performing. Of course, there will be glitches. The program is still being tested for mass usage. Some online connections are lagging and freezes but it has been received and fixes are underway.
